Client Brief
The aim of this project is to create a compelling video that showcases the mission of Boxes of Blessing and inspires community involvement. Boxes of Blessing is a nonprofit that organizes and delivers essential supplies and uplifting messages to families in need over the Christmas Season.
The video should communicate how a simple box can provide hope and relief to struggling families. It must emphasize the power of community and compassion in making a tangible difference in the lives of those facing difficult circumstances.
Distribution One: Small Steps
Small Steps Nurturing Center is a Houston nonprofit that provides early childhood education, social and emotional support, and essential services like transportation and meals to economically at-risk children aged two to six at no cost. Their goal is to narrow the opportunity gap and prepare these children for success in elementary school through a holistic, trauma-informed approach
"We had one mom receive the box just with tears of joy, saying that she had no Christmas meal planned, no idea what she was gonna do over the holidays for her children, and she was so excited."
Distribution Two: YES Prep Schools
YES Prep Public Schools is a public charter school system in Houston that often serves students from economically disadvantaged and underserved communities. With a focus on closing the educational gap, YES Prep prepares students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade for success in college and beyond by providing high-quality education, support services, and a college-bound culture
"A Mom called me and said… I don't feel ashamed, I can come get what I need for my family. I'm not judged for what I have or what I don't have because it's packaged in a way to where they are not ashamed."
Distribution Three: Spring Spirit
SpringSpirit is a Houston-based nonprofit that empowers youth in underserved communities through a combination of sports, education, and ministry programs. The organization provides a supportive environment where young people can grow personally and academically, offering mentoring, tutoring, and recreational activities to help students build life skills and reach their full potential

Our Strategy
Our team chose to highlight the need and impact by focusing on the distribution points, where the community received the Boxes of Blessing. We produced three on-location interviews with partner nonprofits to hear and see firsthand what partnering with these organizations meant, especially in such an emotionally sensitive season.
Through these accounts, we delivered a season wrap-up video that not only encouraged the volunteers and donors of Boxes of Blessing but also truly showcased the far-reaching, often unseen impact of this generosity.
